Palliative care is not just about dying;
it’s about loving God and one another within a compassionate community.
Our faith in Jesus Christ has much to teach us about living well until the end of life. The team organizing the introductory sessions on Horizons of Hope: A Toolkit for Catholic Parishes on Palliative Care want to share this experience with you. The program can help parishioners, caregivers, and family members facing a serious and/or terminal illness to learn more about palliative care. Through each of the four modules, the learning and discussion address themes such as understanding the dying process, discernment and decision-making at the end of life, accompaniment, and the importance of building Compassionate Communities. Additional information about this program is found on line at Horizons of Hope: A Toolkit for Catholic Parishes on Palliative Care – Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (cccb.ca).
