Cursillo in Christianity
The Cursillo Movement is a powerful instrument for restoring the world to Christ with its focus on the Person. Those who attend a Cursillo Weekend are given an understanding that it is possible to live as a Christian in normal everyday life and a desire to journey with Christ. It is a ‘lived experience’ of Christian Community. It also provides a practical means to continue one’s Christian walk which is encouraged during the three-day course.
Explaining about Cursillo to someone who has never experienced Cursillo is at best, difficult. Although there is nothing ‘secret’ in Cursillo, no one can fully explain how God touches each person in His personal and unique way. Attendees on Cursillo Weekends are normally sponsored by other members of the movement and specific questions are best directed to sponsors.

Ultreya
The ultreya is the most important element of cursillo. It answers the what next. It is through the 3 day cursillo encounter that many discover a deeper more personal relationship with Christ, however if there is no follow up the journey started can fall away as we get caught up with the everyday stuff of life. Ultreya is a Spanish word that means onward and as such Ultreya has been called the fourth day – the next day for the rest on your life. The whole precept of ultreya is community. We encourage people to form small groups to share their faith and then meet once a month at an Ultreya
At an Ultreya songs are sung, we form small circles and share our journey with Christ. There is also a witness talk where someone shares their 4 th. day with an opportunity to respond. We have announcements from the secretariat followed by a prayer circle where we pray for the concerns of the community. We conclude with song, fellowship & a snack.
Ultreyas are open to all people and we always introduce our guests at the start of our meetings.
